1. About TAJ Tyres & MOT Station

These terms apply to TAJ TYRES & MOT STATION, including our Mount Pleasant Branch and Portwood Branch. “TAJ”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the garage business operating this website, booking system, customer portal, invoice tools and related customer communications.

Our services may include MOT testing, interim servicing, full servicing, tyres, diagnostics, brakes, batteries, air conditioning, wheel alignment, repairs, inspections, customer invoices, vehicle reminders and other garage services we make available from time to time.

2. Website and account use

You may use this website to view services, make bookings, manage vehicles, view invoices, contact us and use customer account features where available. You must provide accurate information and must not misuse the website, interfere with its security, attempt unauthorised access, copy it for commercial purposes or use it in a way that could harm our business, customers or systems.

If you create or use an account, you are responsible for keeping access details secure and telling us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission.

3. Bookings and appointments

Online booking requests depend on available branch hours, bays, technicians, service type, vehicle type, holidays, blocked slots, existing bookings and any operational limits at the relevant branch. We may contact you to confirm, rearrange, refuse or cancel an appointment where reasonably necessary.

You are responsible for arriving on time and ensuring the vehicle is safe, accessible and suitable for inspection or work. If you arrive late or miss an appointment, we may need to rebook you and may require payment upfront or a deposit for future appointments.

4. Prices, estimates and POA services

Prices shown online may be fixed prices, “from” prices or price on application (“POA”). A POA service means the final price must be confirmed after we understand the vehicle, work required, parts availability, labour time and any specific customer requirements.

“From” prices are starting prices only. The final amount may be higher after inspection, diagnosis, additional labour, parts, consumables, specialist work, failed MOT repairs, retests or extra work requested or approved by you. We aim to get your approval before carrying out additional chargeable work.

5. Payments, deposits and invoices

We may accept payment by online checkout, payment link, card, cash, bank transfer or other methods we approve. Online card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card details on this website.

Deposits may be required for selected bookings, no-show history, high-demand slots, special-order parts or other reasonable business reasons. A deposit may be non-refundable where a slot, parts or labour were reserved for you, unless consumer law gives you a right to a refund.

Vehicles, paperwork, keys or parts may be held until outstanding invoices are paid, where permitted by law.

6. MOTs, diagnostics, repairs and parts

MOT results are based on DVSA standards and vehicle condition at the time of the test. A pass does not guarantee future roadworthiness or remove your responsibility to keep the vehicle safe and legal.

Diagnostics identify likely faults using available tools, symptoms and technician judgment. Some faults are intermittent, hidden or require further investigation. Repair times, parts prices and completion dates are estimates and can change.

Where parts are supplied, warranty terms may vary by manufacturer, supplier, part type and how the vehicle is used. Warranty does not normally cover misuse, wear and tear, unrelated faults, customer-supplied parts or damage caused after the vehicle leaves us.

7. Customer responsibilities

Before leaving a vehicle with us, please remove valuables, personal items, cash, devices and sensitive documents. Tell us about known faults, locking wheel nuts, alarms, immobilisers, non-standard starting instructions, modifications, unsafe conditions and anything else that could affect our work.

  • Provide correct contact details
  • Provide accurate vehicle details
  • Arrive on time for appointments
  • Approve extra work before it starts
  • Remove valuables from the vehicle
  • Pay invoices when due

8. Cancellations, no-shows and changes

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or move an appointment. We may apply reasonable charges or keep a deposit where you cancel late, fail to attend, provide incorrect details, or where parts, labour or third-party costs have already been committed for your booking.

9. Third-party services we use

Our website and operations may rely on trusted third parties. Their services may have separate terms, privacy policies and availability limits.

  • Base44 app hosting and database services
  • Stripe online payments
  • DVLA and DVSA vehicle information services
  • SendPulse email communications
  • SMS Gate text messaging
  • Browser push notification services
  • OpenStreetMap map services
  • Analytics and operational tools

10. Liability and protection of our business

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, website downtime, third-party service failures, inaccurate customer information, pre-existing vehicle faults, normal wear and tear, hidden defects, or items left in vehicles unless caused by our negligence.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms when our services, website, payment options or legal requirements change. The version displayed on this page applies when you use the website or make a booking.
